Stephanie Frederick Speech and Language Pathologist

Stephanie Frederick, MS, CCC/SLP-L - Medical Speech & Language Pathologist and Swallow (dysphagia) Specialist.

Stephanie is the founder of Coastal Speech & Swallow Center and is the lead medical speech & language pathologist.

Stephanie is an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) licensed - Clinical Competency Certified Speech and Language Pathologist. She is licensed in CA & NH and is licensed to provide Telehealth service in FL. She has more than 30 years of experience working in acute inpatient hospitals, adult/geriatric care, and rehabilitation environments treating patients across all spectrums and conditions. Stephanie is also an advanced specialist in dysphagia (swallowing) and neurological disorders (Parkinson's, dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke, ALS, and more).

 

Stephanie earned a BA in Communication Disorders & Science (Speech Pathology) from Elms College, and an MS in Communication Disorders & Sciences (Speech Pathology) from Pennsylvania State University, and is certified in Langmoore FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Examination of Swallow) from Boston University School of Medicine, trained in Advanced Dysphagia Therapy from Stanford University School of Medicine, certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) Loud program, and is clinically trained and highly experienced in MBSS (Modified Barium Swallow Study) from Kaiser Permanente Hospital System. She also has experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and ASL (American Sign Language).

Throughout her career, Stephanie has been at the forefront of her field including her work at the world-renowned Pennsylvania State University Hospital - Hershey Medical Center where she spearheaded the augmentative communication department, worked in rehabilitation, and led the speech & language ALS team - working with a multi-disciplinary team of neurologists, nurses, case workers, and other rehab disciplines (OT/PT, etc). She has also served as the lead acute care/inpatient medical speech & language pathologist at a Southern California Kaiser Permanente Hospital, where she pioneered the first-of-its-kind Parkinson's group, the acute care, and outpatient FEES program, and developed the ALS speech therapy program for the ALS clinic. Additionally, she served as the SLP team coordinator for the inpatient Deep Brain Stimulator research for patients with Parkinson's. Stephanie has worked with the UCLA-affiliated Los Robles Medical Center.

 

Further, Stephanie is a published researcher (Penn State University), speaker, and presenter on a wide variety of communication disorders and clinical subjects. Stephanie provides highly effective, innovative, and proven medical speech and language diagnostic and therapy services to Coastal Speech & Swallow Center and its patients. Her focus is on compassionate, ethical, and culturally considerate care.

Kailey Trask Speech and Language Pathologist

Kailey Trask, MS, CCC/SLP-L - Medical Speech & Language Pathologist.

Kailey is an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) licensed and Clinical Competency Certified Speech and Language Pathologist. She is experienced and skilled in delivering high-quality therapeutic and evaluative speech, language, swallowing, voice, and cognitive communicative services to patients and their families in a breadth of environments such as post-acute, long-term, and short-term adult/geriatric care and rehab, as well as working with pediatrics in the schools, early intervention and private practice settings.

Kailey earned her BA in Psychology from New England College and an MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech Pathology) from Baylor University.  Kailey’s passions and skills are in the area of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including American Sign Language (ASL), Voice pathology as well as neurocognitive communication disorders.
